My summer

So I have decided to take the summer school position at the middle school during the summer. I think it will be a new experience and definitely a challenge worth taking. If I end up without any hair and the rest of my hair that is left on my head is gray then you will know why. LOL! That's middle school for you.

Personal work style

I scored a 35 in D and 25 in I.

Dominance: Direct and Decisive.D's are strong-willed, strong-minded people who like accepting challenges, taking action, and getting immediate results.

Influence: Optimistic and Outgoing.I's are "people people" who like participating on teams, sharing ideas, and energizing and entertaining others.

Conflict Management Style

My dominant style is Competing/ Forcing Shark with a score of 3 and I scored a 4 in the Collaborating Owl.

The Competing Shark

Sharks use a forcing or competing conflict management style.
Sharks are highly goal-oriented.
Relationships take on a lower priority.
Sharks do not hesitate to use aggressive behaviour to resolve conflicts.
Sharks can be autocratic, authoritative, and uncooperative; threatening and intimidating.
Sharks have a need to win; therefore others must lose, creating win-lose situations.
Advantage: If the shark's decision is correct, a better decision without compromise can result.
Disadvantage: May breed hostility and resentment toward the person using it.
Appropriate times to use a Shark style:
when conflict involves personal differences that are difficult to change
when fostering intimate or supportive relationships is not critical
when others are likely to take advantage of noncompetitive behaviour
when conflict resolution is urgent; when decision is vital in crisis
when unpopular decisions need to be implemented.

The Collaborating Owl Owls use a collaborating or problem confronting conflict management style valuing their goals and relationships. Owls view conflicts as problems to be solved finding solutions agreeable to all sides (win-win). Advantage: both sides get what they want and negative feelings eliminated. Disadvantage: takes a great deal of time and effort. Appropriate times to use an Owl Style: when maintaining relationships is important when time is not a concern when peer conflict is involved when trying to gain commitment through consensus building when learning and trying to merge differing perspectives.

Tieger-Baron Assessment

How I prefer to interact with the world is:
Extraverts (E) prefer to focus their attention and process the world on the outer world of people and things.

I process information:
Sensers (S) prefer to deal with information that is tangible, factual, and objective. They prefer data to ideas. They typically like spreadsheets, reports, charts, graphs, facts and figures.

How I make decisions:
Thinkers (T) base their decisions on objective logic. They are “black of white” thinkers and prefer logic and reasoning over emotion. They are typically “bottom line” oriented and want to make decisions that make sense to them.

How I like to live your life.
Judgers (J) prefer order, structure, and organization. They’re the “Things I’ve Got to Do Today” list makers. They like to feel in control of their environment and their life. They prefer to start a project, complete it, and then move on to the next. They are linear thinkers.

Copy and Paste

I haven't figured out how to copy something and past it directly on the blog if I did it would make some things so much easier rather than to sit here and type everything in. If anyone figures this out let me know.

An early start to the week

I love being woken up by my dad early in the day. He called at 6:45 am to tell me that his insurance was denying his claim and that the damages to my car were not going to be paid by the insurance.

About a month ago I dropped off my car at my parents house to have it serviced. As it turns out he was in an accident that a lady caused. She attempted to leave but when she saw my dad get out of the car taking down her licence plate number she turned around and came back to the scene. The lady did not have a driving licence but did have insurance.

The insurance called my dad after receiving the insurance report letting him know that my car was going to be fixed because it was the Lady's fault. As time goes by and my car already in the shop being fixed and then the lady's insurance starts calling my dad with allot of questions. In the end the insurance denies my dad but that was after they had already told him that they would cover the damages. Now he is calling me to tell me he needs to call my insurance to cover the damages. The worst part of this is that my dad was being nice to the lady and her insurance he was not trying to make any extra money and just asked for the minimal repairs.

I have to call my lawyer today and see what they recommend in case my issuance does not cover the damages and try to resolve this issue. I HATE DEALING WITH INSURANCES THEY ARE NOT HELPFUL IN THESE KIND OF SITUATIONS!

Mood: EXTREMELY UPSET and not happy with the results

Friday

I was so fed up with not being able to talk. We had to explain what happen on Wed and there were times that I felt that we were not getting support from our supervisor and I feel that it was because I could not talk. I felt so annoyed with not being able to talk, I felt like writing a letter or email so they could hear my side of the story but decided to wait to Monday when I could talk.
